BrewDog has announced the opening of 102 BrewDog bars – but an online version that aims to replicate the experience of going out for a beer and socialising.

On Friday (March 27) at 6pm, the Aberdeenshire-based brewer will open its virtual doors to anyone in the world (who is over 18) for a series of events including beer tastings and homebrewing masterclasses to pub quizzes, live music and comedy.

Throughout the sessions there will be Q&A opportunities, giveaways and exclusive merchandise available from the BrewDog online shop. There will also be a series of online tastings from guest breweries as well as Hawkes Cider, BrewDog’s OverWorks brewery and BrewDog Distilling Co.

Every single BrewDog Bar in the UK, Germany, Australia and the USA will have its own online session for a chance for locals and regulars to connect.

Session details and events, including how to take part and on which platform it will all be hosted, will be announced on BrewDog’s social media channels: Twitter at @BrewDog and Instagram at @brewdogofficial.

BrewDog co-founder James Watt said: “Community has always been at the absolute core of what we do – and the role that community, and great beer play in our society is now more important than ever.

“Our online bars will be open for business on the 27th of March at 6pm, and we are scheduling a series of amazing sessions with guest breweries, online tastings, games, entertainment. We’re looking forward to welcoming you all and sharing a beer.”

Now in its 13th year of trading, BrewDog has 102 bars across the globe and exports into 60 countries, with beers including Punk IPA. Its distillery produces spirits such as Zealot’s Heart Gin, Lone Wolf Gin and Rogue Wave Vodka.
